Aussie Benny Alloway is set to return to action this weekend as Cage Warriors put on the biggest UK MMA show of the year. On Saturday night he will be standing opposite Moshen Bahari as he looks to continue his winning ways after defeating Jack Mason in March. Before that fight Benny kindly took some time out of his busy schedule to speak with Kingdom MMA.

Chris: You’re fighting Bahari on June 6th at Cage Warriors 69, how has your camp been for this fight, and how if your weight looking 1 week out?
Alloway: I've been able to put in a proper camp for this one, my previous fight I had no sparring and limited grappling so I'm definitely on a different level again for this one.  My weight is great this time around, I got in late to Dublin and had to loose 11kgs in 24 hrs but this time around I'm already down just about ready to cut.

Chris: Last time I looked you were looking for a gym to train in, in London this week. Have you organised a place to train? If so, where will you be working and do you know what guys you will be working with?
Alloway: I've planned to be there a lot earlier than I arrived in Dublin for cage warriors 65,  we are just looking for a place to workout out not really to train with anyone but no we haven't found a place yet, I guess the hotel foyer will do just fine.

Chris: What was your first thought when you heard you were fighting Moshen Bahari at Cage Warriors 69?
Alloway: At first I had no idea who he was, it wasn't till I checked out my good friend Bruno's (Bruno Carvalho, who will fight Jack Mason the same night) last fight that I realised who I'd be fighting.

Chris: Did you think your win over Jack Mason would have earned you a shot at the title?
Alloway: No not at all, I did think it would put me straight into a contenders fight purely because word on the street was he would get a title shot if he was victorious in that bout.  It's hard to see who's on top of the list without a ranking system and I believe Cage Warriors needs one.

Do you think Cage Warriors might have pencilled you in a for welterweight title shot but changed their mind after the Mason fight as the bout wasn’t considered the most exciting?
Alloway: No not at all, we all new how that particular fight would play out.  I was prepared for a grinding fight but was always going to try catch him in between his takedown attempts.

Chris: Is it nice to finally have an opponent who might be willing to stand and trade with you after a series of grapplers?
Alloway: Yes 'might' being the operative word here, a lot have talked it up in the past but after wearing a few kicks and punches always look for the takedown. I think my past 7-8 opponents have been predominantly grapplers so it's been a little frustrating, Bahari looks like he hasn't wanted to go to ground yet in Cage Warriors so I implore him to continue doing the same. If he stands he'll come off second best and may need a pillow.

Chris: To quote you on one of your recent tweets, when talking about Bahari striking you said ‘let him do his little kicks and pussy superman punches, btch I'm gunna punch ur fuckin chin and send u out’. Would it be fair to say your not too impressed with Bahari’s striking?
Alloway: You know I use this social media thing to create a bit of buzz about the fight, Bruno walked through everything he had and told me Bahari lacks power, to me he looks like a points fighter. I plan on doing exactly like I said.  He lacks conviction with his striking, he is not on my level.

Chris: Moshen Bahari has never been knocked out in his career, how confident are you that you can be the first man to do so?
Alloway: Can I KO Mohsen - I have the power to KO anybody, I believe I can finish him one way or another.

Chris: Last time we spoke was before the Mason fight and I asked  you what you thought about Cage Warriors welterweight division. I sensed at the time you were just familiarising yourself with some of the guys in the division. So to ask you again a couple months on, now that you have had some time to study the division, what do you think about the guys at 170?
Who do you feel are the biggest threats to you in the division and how to you feel you match up with the likes of Dalby, Roberts etc.?
Alloway: 170 is packed right now, I've been keeping up with the other boys and how they've been going.  It's a division where exciting fights will happen. I like to look at the division where I'm the threat, I don't have the target (belt)  right now but it's what I want.  I'm the toughest guy on the 170 roster and I want the other guys to know that, I'll fight any of them no problem at all.

Chris: With several top welterweights on this card, do you feel any urgency or pressure to put on a great performance at all?
Alloway: There's always pressure to perform well and finish fights, some guys fight not to lose but I'm always in there to end it the fastest way I can. If Bahari chooses to stand it could be an early night for him.

Chris: It is likely Danny Roberts will fight for the welterweight title next, do you think that even with a win over Bahari you will have to fight again before getting a shot at the title?
Alloway: Who knows what will or can happen, I want to be as active as I can in 2014.  If I had my way I  would have liked to fight Roberts, Wallhead or Thoresen for this fight but you can only fight who they put in front of you and unfortunately for Mohsen his name came out of the hat.

Chris: Finally Benny, If you could send a message to Bahari what would it be?
Alloway: See u at the weigh ins son, once the scales read 171 ill be bringing my fists to have a little fun

On Saturday night Jason Cooledge will step in to Cage Warriors octagon to take on Brad Wheeler in a bout that has fight of the night written all over it.

A product of BKK fighter Cooledge is perhaps one the most underrated lightweights in the country having only lost to top contenders such as Brendan Loughnane, Saul Rodgers, and Jason Ball. We caught up with Cooledge ahead of Cage Warriors 69 to discuss his bout with Brad Wheeler.

Houten:You have been selected to fight on the absolutely stacked Cage Warriors Super Saturday card, how excited are you to be added to this card, and would you say this is one of, if not the biggest domestic card the UK has ever seen?
Cooledge: I'm super excited about this fight, this fight card this is with out a doubt the biggest card the UK has ever seen.

With just 2 weeks out until the fight how is your weight looking, and how has your camp been for this fight?
Everything is perfect. Weight is good, fitness is never better, and I'm in the best shape of my life mentally, physically, and technically.

You have several team mates fighting on this card, does that make staying motivated in training easier?
Motivation is never a problem.  I love it, so I always train my hardest what ever happens, but to have the whole gym peeking at the same time is awesome.

With Mason and Allen on the card who will be in your corner for this fight?
My corner, will be as always - Sean Carter, hood friend and main training partner and my BJJ coach Lee Catling who is the man at everything so I'm more then happy.

You’re fighting Brad Wheeler on the Super Saturday card, what do you think of Brad? What do you think he brings to this fight?
He is a nice bloke. I've spoke to him before, and I have nothing bad to say. He comes out fast and likes to fight so I'm really excited about this.

You were original scheduled to fight Wheeler last year, how disappointed were you to originally have to pull out of the fight, and in the back of your mind did you always know you your paths would cross at some point?
I'm really happy for this fight to happen. I knew this always would happen at some point, why wouldn't it? It's a potential Fight Of The Night on any card.

Looking back to when you were originally scheduled to fight Wheeler, how much more would you say you have improved over the last year?
I'm sure we have both improved everywhere so it will be the same [as when we were first meant to fight].

Where would you say you have the advantage over Brad in this fight?

You have lost  3 times by submission in your career. With Brad taking 8 of his 11 wins by submission is your ground game something you have focused on in this fight?
I've lost 3 fights by submission and won 6 of my 10 fights by sub so I'm not worried at all. In fact I think this is where I have the biggest advantage.
Watching Brads fights he is happy to come forward to stand and trade. Would you say a fighter like that brings out the best in you?
yeah,  him coming forward is perfect for me and really allows me to implement my game plan.

You’re 0-2 under the Cage Warriors banner, do you feel any extra pressure to win this bout than you would do normally knowing that with another loss Cage Warriors might not offer you another fight?
The only pressure is what I put on myself. I just want to show everyone at Cage Warriors what I can do as I have not shown my true potential...yet.

Finally how do you see yourself winning the fight with Brad on Saturday?
Everywhere!

On Saturday night Jack Mason will step foot in to the cage for the third time this year as he takes on Brazilian Bruno Carvalho in a welterweight match up as part of the stacked Cage Warriors 69: Super Saturday card on Saturday night in Kentish Town, London. Before the fight Kingdom MMA caught up with Jack to talk about his upcoming fight.

Sam: Thank you for once again taking the time to do an interview with us Jack – particularly with the proximity to your next fight. In the last interview you did with us you said “the June show looks incredible and yes if Cage Warriors can get me on it’s definitely something I want to be a part of”. How does it feel having your wish come true?
Mason: It feels amazing to be part of something so special as this is such a massive card, it also feels great to finally be back fighting in London!

Sam: At the rate you’re going, you will be set to have around six fights this year. You’ve always been a very active fighter – how do you stay so motivated?
Mason: As long as I’m fit and injury free then there is no reason not to be fighting! Besides I’m 31 now and I want to get as many fights as I can in before I get married and have kids as I’ll have to slow down then!

Sam: With just under a week to go before the big fight on what is a stacked card, how have the preparations for your fight gone?
Mason: Preparations have been great, feel in brilliant shape and the fight camp has been tons of fun. Just looking forward to getting in there now!

Sam: How does it feel to be a part of one of the biggest cards to ever take place in UKMMA. Would you say this was the biggest UK MMA event ever?
Mason: There have been some big events in the past with the likes of Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort fighting at Wembley but yes definitely in recent times this is a huge event, and most certainly the biggest this year. Every fight on the card is very evenly matched and it has some of the best fighters in the world fighting on it.

It’s an absolute privilege to be on the card and I’m having the time of my life right now fighting for Cage Warriors.

Sam: Your next opponent is the solid Brazilian fighter Bruno Carvalho. I believe this will be the third time you have been set to face him in the past year. Is there anything you do not know about this fighter?
Mason: Haha, I’m sure Bruno has some dirty little secrets I don’t know about but in terms of MMA I’ve watched a lot of tape on him and can see that he is world class. The guy has a phenomenal ground and grappling game and is also a really good striker with good reach, so I can tell I have my work cut out in this fight!

Sam: When this fight was offered to you were you concerned that he may pull out leaving no time to prepare for another fighter, it wouldn't be the first time?
Mason: I don’t think Carvalho will pull out this time, it would be highly embarrassing for him if he did.

Sam: What would you say is Carvalho’s most dangerous area?
Mason: Definitely his ground game but he’s good in every area.

Sam: Carvalho has a well-rounded record and has demonstrated both submission skills and powerful hands. How do you see yourself beating him?
Mason: I’m a better wrestler and have powerful ground and pound which I plan on using to finish him.

Sam: He also seems to be a large man for the division. Will you be able to use his size advantage against him?
Mason: I’m a pretty big guy myself and I’ve had 32 fights at Middleweight so I’m used to the big guys. Size won’t be an issue.

Sam: A win on June 7th could see you starting a nice little streak for yourself in Cage Warriors after that razor-close loss to Alloway. Where will this back-to-back win put you in the promotion’s highly talented 170-lbs division?
Mason: To be honest I’m not really thinking about that, Danny Roberts is definitely ahead of me in the title race and until he gets his crack I can’t see me getting a shot so I’ll just keep beating these guys until it’s my turn.

Sam: After most recently fighting in Jordan twice and in Ireland, does it feel good making a return to our capital?
Mason: I work in London every day so it’ll just be another day at work for me. It seems like ages since I fought at home so yes I’m really looking forward to it!

Sam: Is there any added pressure fighting in front of an English crowd or is it just business as usual?
Mason: Definitely no added pressure, if anything it’s a benefit so I’m just looking forward to it.

Sam: Though it will only come into effect at CW70, we have recently heard the big news that Cage Warriors have joined forces with Channel 4. Is this exciting news to hear as one of the most experienced and well respected fighters in UK MMA?
Mason: The deal could potentially be absolutely huge for Cage Warriors and all the fighters involved. It will be interesting to see what type of time slot the show gets given but if they like it and the show makes it onto a prime time slot we could see all of the fighters become household names and people might be able to make a decent living from fighting rather than just scraping by.

Cage Warriors have literally gone from strength to strength over the past few years and I can’t thank Graham Boylan, Paul Dollery and Ian Dean enough for the opportunities they’ve given me and the sport of MMA in the UK.

I think by the time that MMA really becomes a recognised sport in the UK I will be done fighting but I’d like to think that the guys I coach will go on to become big stars.

Sam: Would you like to thank anybody?

Today I caught up with Jake Bostwick to talk to him about his huge fight this weekend on the stacked Cage Warriors 69: Super Saturday card. The event which has two main cards on one night, including two world title fights headlining each of the cards is going to be one of the biggest events the UK has ever seen.

Ben: Hi Jake, thanks for the time ahead of the big fight on Saturday.
Would you say that this was the biggest fight of your career and how excited are you to get back to work?
Bostwick: I'm very excited to get back to work and this fight is definitely my biggest and toughest fight of my career yet.

Ben: Who have you been working with to prepare for this fight and have you worked this camp the same as every other fight?
Bostwick: I have been working with Mickey Papas and Kieran Keddle my normal two coaches, the only thing different is I did some strength and conditioning earlier on at the start of this camp at a place called The Temple in Deptford. Other then that, just normal stuff really working my takedown defence a lot more but that's obvious with a guy like Simeon.

Ben: Last time out you fought at middleweight, was that always going to be a one off step up to stay active and then drop back to Welterweight?
Bostwick: The middleweight fight was a one off, I'm not a big middleweight at all so yeah a one off, this fight onwards I should be sticking to welterweight no problem!!

Ben: You have one of the most exciting ring walks in all of MMA, the crowd go nuts when you make your way to the cage. How much of a buzz do you get from the crowd?
Bostwick: To be honest the crowd make the fight, especially when walking in as I do and having everyone behind me like that. It's one of the best feelings ever.

Ben: That last fight was an absolute war and I believe you still bear the scars from that fight on your face, do you expect another war on Saturday night?
Bostwick: I hope to get another war on Saturday but think it's going to be more of a strategy game. Simeon I believe will try take me down early doors, from then on out it will be sprawl and brawl on him so could be exciting or could be boring have to wait and see how he wants it I guess.

Ben: You fought some of the top fighters in UK MMA before you got on the incredible run you are now on, what do you think changed between how you fight now and how you did back then? Do you believe that if you fought those guys now you would have won?
Bostwick: A while back when I was on my losing streak I used to fight for the sake of it, not much love or respect for the sport, if there was anything I could change in my life it would be how I fought back then. But that's life, you live and learn and I'm always evolving. If I could fight most of the guys from back then I believe I would put up such a great fight and grab them wins.

I sometimes train with the likes of Jack Mason so to have lost to him and now learn from him is great also.

Ben: On Saturday night you will be fighting UFC vet Thoresen, what do you think he brings to the table and have you identified any areas which you will be able to target?
Bostwick: Thoresen's a grappler no doubt, think his weakness is his striking but on the night he could bring a different game to the table. I don't see him coming to strike with me but I'm prepared for anything he comes with.

Ben: Where do you believe an impressive win puts you in the title picture, with a lot of top guys at 170 all wanting the next shot.
Bostwick: Its hard to say really, beating Simeon will be a massive stepping stone for me and I'm not one to rush opportunities so rather just wait and see what happens after beating Thoresen.

Ben: Since signing for CW you have failed to put away your opponents but before that you was finishing opponents with ease. Is this putting extra pressure on you to go out and want to get the finish again?
Bostwick: I don't know why I haven't finished yet on a Cage Warriors card, guess I have just fought 2 tough Frenchmen haha! It doesn't put pressure on me as I still got the W so that to me is all that matters but hopefully you should catch me with another knockout victory Saturday.

Ben: Fighting for cage warriors right now must be exciting, with the recent news about signing a tv deal with channel 4. What are your thoughts on the tv deal and are you excited about the possibility of fighting live on channel 4 in the future?
Bostwick: Yes it's very exciting news about the channel 4 deal and to think how many more people then will start following Cage Warriors will be awesome for sure.
