Derek Brunson and Yoel Romeo went to war at UFC Fight Night 35 with Romeo coming back from 2 rounds down to knock out Brunson in the final frame. Both men earned 50k extra as a reward for their Fight of the Night performance, but this will come as little compensation to Brunson who had his jaw broken in the process, and as a result has been issued an indefinite suspension by the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment commission.
UFC president Dana White confirmed via his twitter account that the Middleweight underwent surgery following the bout, and will now require doctor clearance before he can fight again:
Just went to the hospital to see @DerekBrunsonMMA he has a fractured jaw. He is waiting to have surgery.
